Two Elementary Associate Principals Named

The Ames Community School District is excited to announce two elementary associate principals have been named in the District. Anthony Jahr will be the Associate Principal at Fellows Elementary and Austin Riedeman at Edwards Elementary.

Most recently, Jahr served as the Associate Principal at Ames High School. He received his undergraduate degree in biology/science education from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.  He then started teaching high school science at Centerville High school and then BCLUW High School. Jahr obtained his Masters in Educational Leadership at UNI and worked at South Tama County High School where he was the High School Assistant Principal/Activities Director for two years.

Riedeman is currently an Instructional Coach at Edwards Elementary where he carries out roles such as Professional Learning Community Lead, Building and District Equity Team, an MTSS Facilitator, and Student Intervention Team Lead. Reideman has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University. He started with the District in 2015 as a 4th grade teacher at Edwards.

“I feel honored to have served Edwards Elementary as a teacher and an Instructional Coach throughout my career, and I am excited for the opportunity to serve our community in the role of Associate Principal,” said Riedeman. “Marian Wright Edelman once said, ‘Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.’ With this in mind, I have made it my mission to provide a high-quality education for the children of our community.”

Both Jahr and Riedeman officially begin their duties on July 1, 2023. As a District, we are excited for their continued leadership.
